What is your goal with Sharkon Data?
Our goal is pretty simple – we want to make the industry better. We strongly believe that it becomes easier to understand and improve when you start to focus. We know many great MSPs who share a curiosity about their performance. They're curious because they want to improve the lives of their clients, their staff, and themselves. These great and curious MSPs have an unerring focus on their performance. For them, it is not always about being the best but a constant cycle of improvement. For our industry to grow and prosper, we believe that we should be in a state of continuous improvement and challenge. Sharkon Data provides that challenge – and helps satisfy your curiosity.
Why did you start Sharkon Data?
For ten years, we have worked with 100s of MSPs, helping them with monitoring, automation, integration, Kaseya, Autotask, ConnectWise, and Service Now. The clients we worked with ranged from the absolute novice to some managing over 40,000 endpoints. These people we worked with, whether the starting entrepreneur or the industry veteran, would always ask, how do I compare? Can you tell me best practice? What are other MSPs doing? What should I aim for? Sharkon Data is our answer to these questions. We aim to build a community where the members can share and learn, explore and challenge, grow and succeed.

What does Sharkon mean?
Sharkon is a mash-up of the founders' surnames – Haaker and Wilson. It is 2022, so we're a bit late to get URLs like data.com or analytics.com, so we've made do.
Where are you based?
The founders live in New Zealand. The business has resources based in India, Australia, Africa, England and USA. All data is stored (encrypted at rest) on AWS servers in the USA.
Are you PCI compliant?
Yes! We utilize both Chargebee (chargebee.com) and Paypal (Paypal.com) in the processing of payments. Sharkon Data does not store or process credit card information ourselves. We have selected what we believe are the best companies in the industry for this purpose, keeping both you and us safe.
Tell me about Privacy
Sharkon Data encrypts all PII (Personally Identifiable Information) held within our database using 256bit encryption.
In addition we store only the data that is required to produce the dashboards - for example we may store the Company identifier (numeric code generated by your PSA application) but we do not store the Company name.
We adhere to GDPR regulations regarding the processing of personal data of those who reside with the European Union.
How often is my data updated?
Your 1st data transfer captures 6 months of ticket data. We analyse the data with our proprietary ticket reader and categorize each ticket into 1 of 10 categories. This provides a great starting point. Once the initial ticket load is completed, your data is updated daily.
How do I change my plan?
If you subscribe to a monthly plan, you can cancel at anytime, you will only be charged for the remainder of the month. If you wish to move from monthly charge to the annual fee you can do so within the month. At the start of the next month you will be charged the annual fee.
I think my data is wrong, what should I do?
Please contact us and we will work together to make your data accurate. We have gone to extensive lengths to (where possible) rely on automated data retrieval and processing instead of manual data matches. Our process ensures consistency and reliability of data, but from time to time exceptions do occur. We're happy to work it our together. Contact us here
